Abstract:
In this article Luca Escoffier offers a brief explanation as to nanotechnology and its major applications. He then provides an overview of Japan’s nanotechnology-related governmental investment plans to foster this relatively new field of technology. The author offers statistical data for nanotechnology inventions before the Japan Patent Office and addresses the main patentability issues which surround these inventions.
