Abstract:
In this article, Ankan Bhattacharya explores the economic incentives and disincentives associated
with investing in nanotechnology. First, Mr. Bhattacharya proposes a framework for understanding
nano-manufacturing. Mr. Bhattacharya then evaluates a firm’s incentives and disincentives for pursuing
nano-manufacturing; then, he identifies the incentives and disincentives for governments to fund
nanomaterials manufacturing.
