Abstract:
“Printed power” is the door to the next generation of energy storage beyond conventional batteries and supercapacitors. Nanoscale wires, such as carbon nanotubes, allow printed electronics to become smaller, more flexible, and environmentally resistant while maintaining a high electrical conductance. Thin film batteries have already made inroads into the market. University researchers are currently researching carbon nanotubes for use in printed charge storage devices. These devices will work in tandem with printed electronics as they become more prevalent in the market.
