Abstract:
Research and development of nanotechnology is taking place in corporate research laboratories around the world. Partnerships between large, multinational corporations and start-ups are increasingly common in nanotechnology. These partnerships can involve joint development agreements, equity financing, and manufacturing and distribution agreements. In this article, Ottilia Saxl, Chief Executive of the Institute of Nanotechnology, provides examples of these alliances and explores why they are desirable.
