The European Union Consultation on Nanotechnology
Volume 7, Issue 1

Luca Escoffier

The European Union Commission is now trying to gauge the interests and concerns of the stakeholders and public at large as to nanotechnologies and their applications. The EU Commission recently ran a public consultation from December 17, 2009 to February 19, 2010, inviting “views on the needs in nanotechnology in the next five years, as perceived by experts active in the field and by the public at large.” This article examines and evaluates the survey’s questions, and concludes with predictions on the outcome of the consultation.
